An explosion brings down the broadcasting station, Nichiuri TV, during the filming of the Satsuki Cup, a tournament featuring the competitive traditional card game called karuta. Caught in the bombing, young detective Conan helps childhood sweethearts Heiji and Kazuha make a narrow escape from the collapsing building. Meanwhile, the reigning Satsuki Cup champion has been found murdered in his Kyoto residence. In Japanese with English subtitles.
