Can all films be shown in IMAX?
Films are specially shot for IMAX. Some content can be adapted for IMAX screens, but no matter what film you watch, you’ll have an incredible cinematic experience from the moment you walk through the door at IMAX Sydney.
What is IMAX with Laser and what are the benefits of this new technology?
IMAX with Laser is IMAX’s most advanced cinema experience, featuring crystal clear laser projection and next generation precision sound, allowing audiences to be immersed into the biggest blockbusters on the biggest screens. The experience is set apart by its 4K laser projection system featuring a new optical engine and a suite of proprietary IMAX technologies that deliver crystal clear IMAX laser projection, increased resolution, deeper contrast as well as the most distinct, exotic colours ever available on-screen. All films presented through the IMAX with Laser system will be digitally re-mastered specifically for the new system to take advantage of the increased sharpness, brightness, contrast, colour and other attributes it can deliver. The soundtracks will also be re-mixed for next generation IMAX precision sound and the multi-channel system.
