The 2026 Sydney Science Fiction Film Festival delivers once again on its mission to provide the largest launching pad possible for ground-breaking speculative cinema from Australia and across the globe.
This year, our celebration of visionary science fiction/fantasy works will be presenting the World Premieres of three Australian feature films - Enzo Tedeschi's generations-spanning drama RESONANCE; Steven Kastrissios' expansive, brooding, Albanian-set fantasy, SKYBREAKERS; and, Sean Bell's ode to our inner-city denizens of the future, ELECTRIC FEEL.
The Australian Premiere line-up includes Mike Jackson's riotous Canadian time-travel romp TIME HELMET, while Bram Conjaert's beautifully cinematic factual film THE MYSTERIOUS CASE OF THE BELGIAN TRIANGLE, Pete Bridge's moving drama DEJA VU starring Ryan Corr, and Zeke Morgan-Hind's timely examination of A.I. ethics and technology PROMPT: MAKE A DOCUMENTARY will all have their New South Wales premieres.
Retrospective events include the Australian Premiere of the 2K Restoration of the great Italian director Mario Bava's masterpiece PLANET OF THE VAMPIRES and a 25th anniversary screening of the outer-space slasher classic, JASON X. And across our Animation, Australian and International short film strands, 28 amazing works have earned their big-screen stripes across a weekend of wonder, terror, sadness and joy as only the most truly unique film festival experience can promise.
