SUFF - Rhino
**AUSTRALIAN PREMIERE**Starting out as an aggressive delinquent, a young man nicknamed Rhino works his way up the criminal hierarchy in the 1990s Ukraine. But navigating through post- Soviet times in a cutthroat society does not come without sacrifices. With nothing left to lose, will he finally find a chance at redemption? Director Oleh Sentsov, the Internationally award-winning Ukrainian filmmaker, Sentsov was arrested during the 2014 annexation of Crimea and unlawfully sentenced to 20 years imprisonment. While in prison, he received the European Parliament Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought. He was finally released in 2019, after massive International pressure including from the global film community. Rhino was his first feature after his release and he is now serving at the front lines in Ukraine’s defence for freedom against Russia’s genocidal war. This special charity screening of Rhino to be opened by His Excellency Vasyl Myroshnychenko Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Ukraine to Australia followed by a unique interview with Sensov at front line of the war alongside Julian Kynsh.
