Prepare to experience an amazing cinematic experience with KinoKonzert, a new bi-monthly program of exclusive film concerts presented by the Goethe-Institut Australia.

KinoKonzert brings together an intense and enthralling combination of film and music, with some of the most talented musicians from Australia and Germany.

The series will start on July 14 with Crossroads, a modern silent film written and directed by Berlin Underground Legends “Alexander Hacke & Danielle de Piciotto” who will perform live in the cinema.

Alexander is a member of the landmark post-industrial band Einstürzende Neubauten and an award-winning film composer and Danielle is a former member of the legendary Australian rock outfit Crime and the City Solution (together with Alexander) and the co-founder of the iconic Love Parade.

Crossroads is a modern silent film which illustrates their incredible journey through Europe, North Amerika, Australia and Mexico to meet with different cultures and traditions and try to answer the fundamental question “what is home?”.

Following Crossroads, we’ll host Melbourne-based techno DJ and composer, Chiara Kickdrum, who will perform her new score to Carl Theodor Dreyer's landmark horror film Vampyr, live in the cinema.

Get ready to experience silent cinema as never before!

DATE: 14 July & 26 September
