The Alliance Francaise de Newcastle and sponsors Event Cinemas and Helloworld Travel invite you to the 2019 French Film Festival 24 -26 May 2019.

 

Opening night - Friday 24 May begins at 6pm with our Little French Market offering French-inspired items and delicious treats. Sink or Swim, nominated for Best Film at the 2019 Cesar Awards, begins at 7pm.

 

Saturday 25 May

Dilili in Paris, 2pm
The World is Yours, 4pm

In Safe Hands, 7pm

 

Sunday 26 May: 

Family Photo, 11am 

Claire Darling, 2pm

 

All films have English subtitles.

 

Afternoon tea will be available in the Gold Class Lounge on Sunday from 12.30-2pm. Only $2 if you show your Film Festival ticket.

 

Come join us in our new home at Event Cinemas Kotara at Westfield Kotara Rooftop, corner of Northcott Drive and Park Avenue.

 

Tickets $15 per adult / $12 concession. 3-film pass $35 per adult / $30 concession. Complete Festival passes (all 6 films) $60 adult / $50 concession. Concession includes members of Alliance Francaise and Newcastle Film Society.

 

A special child ticket is $9 for the Saturday 2pm screening only.

Dilili, a young indigenous Kanak girl from New Caledonia, arrives in Belle Époque Paris and decides to investigate the mysterious disappearances of young girls across the city. Along with local delivery boy Orel, famous figures from the era including Marie Curie, Picasso, Renoir, Louis Pasteur, Gustave Eiffel and Colette, all play a part in solving the mystery.

Winner of the Best Animation Feature Film at the 2019 Cesar Awards.
