Two worlds collide in this contemporary drama from Cédric Klapisch (L’Auberge Espagnole). Working-class single mother France (Karin Viard) finds herself at a crossroads when she loses her job when the local factory closes following a corporate merger. Mother of three daughters and separated from their father, she must find a solution and look for a new job. With few prospects in her small seaside town, she moves to Paris and secures a position as a housekeeper for Steve (Gilles Lellouche) - a handsome workaholic and successful businessman who leads a lavish lifestyle in Paris. Dedicated to her work and generous, France soon finds herself looking after Steve’s young son, whose mother has decided to leave for a couple of months. But there is more to Steve than meets the eye. What really lies behind his bravado? Will France accept everything?
With its comedic edge, this engaging social commentary reflects upon the realities of today’s power-hungry, money-driven society and the larger consequences of a single decision.
“His piece of the pie (Klapisch) is a realistic portrait of our society” -
