EVENT CINEMAS – MASTERCARD CLICK TO PAY COMPETITION (“Promotion”)
CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
1. Information on how to enter the Promotion and the prizes form part of these Conditions of Entry. Participation in this Promotion is deemed acceptance of these Conditions of Entry.
2. The Promotion is open to individuals who:
a. Are residents of New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia or the North Territory;
b. Members of the Cinebuzz program; and
c. Are not employees (or immediate family members of such employees) of the Promoter, or any of its related corporations; and
d. Have not been discovered to have breached these Conditions of Entry or Conditions of Entry of previous contests run by the Promoter,
(“Entrant” or “Entrants”).
An immediate family member means any of the following: spouse, ex-spouse, de-facto spouse, child or step-child, parent, step-parent, grandparent, step-grandparent, uncle, aunt, niece, nephew, brother, sister, step-brother, step-sister or first cousin.
3. Entrants under 18 years old must have parental/guardian approval to enter and further, the parent/guardian of the Entrant must read and consent to these Conditions of Entry. Parents/guardians may be required by the Promoter to enter into a further agreement as evidence of consent to the minor entering this Promotion.
4. The Promoter reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries and Entrants (including an Entrant’s identity, age and place of residence) and reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any Entrant who the Promoter has reason to believe has breached any of these Conditions of Entry, tampered with the entry process or engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconducted calculated to jeopardise fair and proper conduct of the Promotion. Errors and omissions may be accepted at the Promoter's discretion. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights. The Promoter's legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from such an offender are reserved.
5. It is a condition of entry that Entrants are able to accept a prize as stated. Inability to accept a prize as stated will deem the participant an ineligible Entrant and any prize won will be forfeited.
6. All prices stated are in Australian dollars (AUD), and represent the recommended retail price (“RRP”) and include GST. All references to times and dates are reflected as to times and dates in Sydney which may be Australia Eastern Standard Time (“AEST”) or Australian Eastern Daylight Saving Time (“AEDST”) depending on the date. All times are stated using the 24-hour clock.
KEY DATES
7. The Promotion commences for ticket purchases from 14/11/2024 at 00:01 AEDST and concludes for ticket purchases on 01/01/2025 11:59 AEDST (“Promotion Period”).
8. No responsibility will be taken by the Promoter for any ineligible or lost entries or entries submitted or received by the Promoter after the Promotional Period. Entries that do not comply with these Conditions of Entry, are incomplete, or submitted or received by the Promoter after the Promotional Period will be declared void.
9. There will be seven (7) draws conducted for this Promotion (each a “Draw”). Subject to the starting time, entries open at 00:00 AEDST and close at 23:59 AEDST for each Draw on the dates specified in the table below. All draws will take place at 11:00 AEDST at Anisimoff Legal, 3 Amy Close, Wyong NSW 2259 on the dates and times specified in the table below. Undrawn entries in each Draw will be entered into any subsequent Draws. The Promoter may draw additional reserve entries and record them in order in case an invalid entry or ineligible entrant is drawn. Winners will be notified in writing via the email provided when purchasing a ticket within two (2) business days of the relevant Draw and their details (first initial, surname and postcode) will be published online at (https://www.eventcinemas.com.au/Promotions/CompetitionWinners) on the dates specified in the table below.

10. The Promoter’s decision in relation to determining the winning entry, and all aspects of the Promotion, is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
11. UNCLAIMED PRIZE DRAW: If a Prize remains unclaimed by 23:59 AEDST on 06/02/2025, the Promoter will conduct an unclaimed prize draw at the same time/location as the original Draw on 07/02/2025. Disposal of any unclaimed prize may be made subject to any written directions given by any government authority and pursuant to any relevant legislation. Any replacement prize winner will be contacted by email within 2 business days of the Promoter’s decision of the replacement winner and their details (first initial, surname and postcode) will be published online at (https://www.eventcinemas.com.au/Promotions/CompetitionWinners) on 14/02/2025.
HOW TO ENTER
12. To enter the Promotion an Entrant will be required to undertake the following steps during the Promotional Period:
a. Be a Cinebuzz member, be signed into their account or online at Event Cinemas desktop website [www.eventcinemas.com.au] or on the mobile site;
b. Purchase any movie ticket to see any film during the Promotion Period on the Promoter’s desktop website [www.eventcinemas.com.au] or mobile site;
c. Make the transaction using Click To Pay with Mastercard on the Promoter’s desktop website [www.eventcinemas.com.au] or mobile site; and
d. Provide all personal information requested upon payment (full name, phone number, and postal address, booking confirmation number or Cinebuzz Member number and email address).
13. Any cost associated with accessing the Promotion website is the Entrant’s responsibility and is dependent on the Internet service provider used.
14. Multiple entries are permitted however only one (1) entry will be awarded per transaction.
15. A Prize will be awarded to an Entrant each week during the Promotion Period by a random competition draw from the Entrants that meet the Conditions of Entry. This is a game of chance and entrants will receive automatic entry into the draw if they meet the entry requirements as per these Conditions of Entry.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS & VERIFICATION
16. The Promoter may, in its absolute discretion, disqualify any Entrant and declare any or all entries made by an Entrant invalid if an Entrant:
a. Tampers with the entry process, including use of any automated entry software or any other mechanical or electronic means that permit the Entrant to automatically enter repeatedly; or
b. Tampers with the operation of the Promotion or website or found to be using multiple aliases, household addresses or email addresses; or
c. Acts in a disruptive manner; or
d. Fails to establish their entitlement to enter the Promotion to the Promoter’s reasonable satisfaction; or
e. Fails to produce items as required or produces items that, in the Promoter’s opinion, are illegible, stolen, forged, reconstructed, altered, incomplete or tampered with in any way; or
f. Acts in violation of these Conditions of Entry.
ENTRY DETAILS
17. Entrants can only enter in their own name.
18. Entries are deemed to be received at the time of receipt in the Promotion database and NOT at the time of transmission by an Entrant.
19. Incomplete, illegible or incorrect entries, entries which are not in the required format or which contain offensive or defamatory comments, or which breach any law or infringe any third party rights, including intellectual property rights, are not eligible to win a Prize.
PRIZES
20. 20. The first two (2) valid entries drawn in Draw 1 and 7 and the first valid entry drawn in Draws 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 will each win Free Movie Tickets for a Year (“Prize”). Each Prize consists of a Movie Pass valued at up to AUD $25,000 (inc GST). Each Movie Pass Prize is valid for an active Cinebuzz member only. Movie Pass is valid for two tickets by the winning Cinebuzz member per day for 365 days. Only Valid at Event Cinemas and BCC Cinemas in Australia. Valid for sessions excluding Saturday night after 5pm. Not valid for Gold Class, 4DX, Screen X, 3D Sessions, group bookings, special events, movie marathons or in conjunction with any other offer or promotion unless otherwise stated. This pass is not transferable and cannot be sold or exchanged for cash or other gift products. Movie Pass will be loaded onto a single nominated Cinebuzz Account, once used, will not be able to retrieve back. Cinebuzz member to book tickets via their Cinebuzz account online or at the Box Office. Movie Pass is valid for 12 months after being issued. Any unused balance of the Movie Pass will not be awarded as cash.
21. If a winner of a Prize is under the age of 18 years, the prize will be awarded to the winner's nominated parent or guardian on the winner’s behalf.
22. The Movie Pass tickets are subject to the event venue and ticket terms and conditions, including any applicable age restriction. The Promoter hereby expressly reserves the right to eject the winner (and/or their companion/s) for any inappropriate behaviour, including but not limited to intoxication, whilst participating in any element of the Prize.
23. The total prize pool value is $225,000.
24. The Prize value is accurate as of Thursday 3 October 2024. The Promoter does not accept responsibility for any change in Prize value.
GENERAL
25. Nothing in these Conditions of Entry limits, excludes or modifies or purports to limit, exclude or modify the statutory consumer guarantees as provided under the Competition and Consumer Act (Cth), as well as any other implied warranties under the ASIC Act (Cth) or similar consumer protection laws in the States and Territories of Australia ("Non-Excludable Guarantees"). Except for any liability that cannot by law be excluded, including the Non-Excludable Guarantees, the Promoter (including its respective officers, employees and agents) exclude all indirect, special or consequential loss or damage arising in any way out of the Promotion.
26. Except for any liability that cannot by law be excluded, including the Non-Excludable Guarantees, the Promoter (including its respective officers, employees and agents) are not responsible for and exclude all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of: (a) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter’s control); (b) any theft, unauthorized access or third party interference; (c) any entry or prize claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after their receipt by the Promoter) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter; (d) any variation in prize value to that stated in these Conditions of Entry; (e) any tax liability incurred by a winner or entrant; or (f) use of a Prize.
27. If the Promotion does not run for its duration or is not able to be run as planned due to, but not limited to, computer viruses, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other cause beyond the Promoter’s reasonable control that interferes with, or affects administration, security, fairness or proper conduct of the Promotion, the Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to the fullest extent permitted by law: (a) to disqualify any entrant; or (b) subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority, to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the promotion, as appropriate.
28. CAUTION: Any attempt to deliberately undermine the legitimate operation of this Promotion may be a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made, whether successful or not, the Promoter reserves the right to seek damages to the fullest extent permitted by law.
29. If there is a dispute as to the identity of an Entrant, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to determine the identity of the Entrant.
30. Subject to the unclaimed prize draw, if for any reason a winner does not take their Prize (or part of the Prize) at/by the time stipulated, then the Prize (or that part of the Prize) will be forfeited and will not be redeemable for cash.
31. If the prize (or part of the prize) is unavailable, the Promoter, in its discretion, reserves the right to substitute the prize (or that part of the prize) with a prize to the equal value and/or specification, subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority.
PERSONAL INFORMATION
32. Entry details remain the property of the Promoter. Acceptance of the Prize is deemed to be acceptance by the winner of these Conditions of Entry and approval to use the winner’s names and photographs for publicity purposes unless specifically requested by the winner/s not to do so at the time of entering the Promotion.
33. The Promoter collects personal information about Entrants to include Entrants in the Promotion and where appropriate award any offer and/or prize, and Entrant acknowledges that such personal information may also be disclosed to relevant third parties including to the Promoter and its related bodies corporate and its agents for the specific purpose of administering the Promotion and providing the Prizes. If the personal information requested is not provided, the Entrant may not participate in the Promotion. Personal information may also be accessed by the Promoter’s marketing and website service providers for processing and conducting the promotion and assisting with marketing communications. By entering the Promotion, each Entrant agrees that the Promoter may use Entrants’ personal information in this manner. Entrants can also request to gain access to, update or correct any personal information by contacting the Promoter at the address or phone number below. Entrants wishing to opt out of the Promoter’s marketing communications can also use the address or phone number below. All personal information will be stored at the office or in the electronic database of the Promoter. The Promoter collects, uses and handles the personal information of all Entrants in accordance with its Privacy Policy available at https://eventcinemas.com.au/terms/Privacy.
