Welcome to the 3rd Winda Film Festival. Celebrating Indigenous Films Under the Milkyway!

The Winda Film Festival showcases Indigenous films from around the world from award-winning feature films to shorts from the bush. In 2018, we celebrate an array of diverse films and genres by Indigenous filmmakers from over 9 countries, 20 nations represented and with over 20 different languages spoken.

Winda will also feature a Virtual Reality session presenting five Indigenous works and an open-air cinema screening under the stars for our closing night Greenlandic film, Akornatsinniitut Tarratta Nunaanni (Among Us In The Land Of Our Shadows).

Winda means ‘stars’ in the Gumbaynggirr language from the north coast of New South Wales. The name of the festival draws inspiration from Aboriginal Astronomy, where we look to the stars for guidance, creation and for our ancestors.

Main Festival Screening venue - Event Cinemas 22-25 November 2018
Virtual Reality Session - Friday, 23 November 2018, UTS.
Closing Night Screening - Sunday, 25 November 2018, Barangaroo.
