Dare to Care - History of the Island Charity Swim
20yrs ago two larrikins on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland lost a bet. They were dared to swim around Old Woman Island to Mooloolaba which is 10km on the wrong side of the shark nets! They did this to help the Coast’s Special Schools. The community jumped on board giving birth to the annual Island Charity Swim. This beautifully captured story traces the history of the event and the tremendous impact the swim has had for kids and families of the Nambour and Currimundi Special Schools. Be prepared to be moved as we explore and celebrate the lives of the children, siblings and families of the schools. Be warned, you may be tempted to swim too!
